T-Minus 22 Days until Take-Off--a Packing List

Only 22 more days until students, staff, and friends of Thunderbird Adventist Academy will take off for Livingstone, Zambia!  There is much to do before we get on the plane--including the all-important packing.  Following is a list of things to pack:

Remember, you need to pack in two large suitcases and one carry on.  You should pack one complete change of clothing in each bag and all your personal toiletries in your carry on.

GENERAL PACKING

Comfortable shoes and sandles for walking and standing for long periods

Close toe shoes

Socks

Underclothes

Slacks, lightweight and washable

Casual shirts and blouses (some long sleeve)

Dress shirt and tie for Sabbath

Dresses and skirts for Sabbath

Swimming suit  (FEMALES ONE PIECE ONLY, MALES NO SPEEDOS)

Light jacket for cool evenings

Sleep wear

Sandals or slippers

Bathrobe, if you want

Miscellaneous Items

Bible

Passport w/ Visa endorsement (also a copy of)

Journal

Note pad/pen

Book (or two) to read

Snacks

Flashlight/spare batteries

220 Volt Converter and Adapter plug

Personal toiletries

Mirror

Washcloth

Towel for excursion to Falls

Bible

Journal

Clock / Alarm

Camera/memory/spare batteries

Sun block - SPF 30 or higher

Handiwipes or disinfectant hand gel

Mosquito repellent - DEET 30 to 50 percent

Sunglasses with UV protection

Money for personal spending

If you are on daily medication, do not check your medicine into your luggage.  Pack it in your carry-on luggage. If your luggage gets lost, you will still have your medicine.

Lightweight day pack - optional

Please consider packing older clothes.  At the end of the trip you can leave them with the people in Zambia (as long as your parents are ok with it)
